This project consisted of a new 38-gate commuter terminal, including new passenger holdroom, ticketing, concourse, concessions, airline operations space, and exterior apron area. Rather than have prominent light fixtures take center stage, BLS designed the lighting to integrate with the architecture, thereby complementing the form, textures, and colors of the architectural design... and ultimately achieve the project goal of creating a dynamic and exciting gateway to the Philadelphia region. By highlighting architectural surfaces such as a unique curved ceiling and large accent walls, BLS was able to create focal points and increase visual interest, which helps to enhance the experience for both airport employees and visitors.
