Complete interior and exterior lighting design were provided for the SteelStacks ArtsQuest building dedicated to arts, culture, and education. Particular care was taken to highlight the steel and the artwork throughout the building. The design was based on modern versions of light fixtures found in the original steel mill located at the site. Classic "Jelly Jar" fixtures were used in many locations but modified to include a variety of lamping, optics, and aesthetic features. These customized fixtures were inexpensive, energy efficient, and created a comprehensive vocabulary throughout the space that was highly integrated with the architecture. Where the "jelly jar" fixtures were not utilized care was taken to conceal the light fixtures in coves and slots so the focus would be on the architecture and not the light fixtures.
